Nonis Clinical Laboratory is proud to have successfully participated in the Microbiology Seminar organised by the Association of Clinical Laboratory Directors and T.C. Christoforou Ltd, titled:
“Implementing EUCAST Standards: From Guidelines to Daily Laboratory Practice”
The seminar took place on Saturday, 22 November 2025, in Agios Theodoros, Larnaka, and was presented by Dr. Ippokratis Messaritakis.

What is EUCAST and why is it important?
EUCAST (European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing) sets the official guidelines that laboratories follow to determine whether bacteria are sensitive or resistant to antibiotics.
These standards ensure accurate, comparable, and clinically meaningful susceptibility results, which directly support correct treatment decisions and responsible antibiotic use.
The session offered valuable insights into the practical implementation of EUCAST standards in daily microbiology workflows—an area essential to our commitment to continuous improvement and quality in diagnostics.
Our participation reinforces our dedication to:
- Maintaining high standards in antimicrobial susceptibility testing
- Staying aligned with current EUCAST updates and methodologies
- Ensuring accurate, evidence-based microbiology results for our patients and clinicians
We extend our appreciation to the organisers for delivering such a well-structured and informative event.
Nonis Clinical Laboratory remains committed to ongoing scientific development and the advancement of laboratory practice in Cyprus.
